Salon Visit and a Hard Good bye

Alona and I had a very welcomed lazy day after all the hustle and bustle of this week working on documents and passports. We slept in and then headed out to lunch. One of Alona's favorite things to order is Chicken Caesar Salad. The only problem with this is that she picks out ALL of the lettuce and just eats the "fixins"

After lunch, Alona decided that she wanted a haircut, so we went to the salon! Alona got quite a bit cut off, and the stylist straightened it for her. Love the new look!!

Pretty girl!!

We spent the afternoon at the apartment watching movies and then met our facilitator Angelina for dinner and to say goodbye. Tomorrow she heads to her hometown, and early Saturday morning Alona and I will head to Kiev to finish up some things there. Saying good bye to Angelina was very, very difficult...I am still crying! No one knows the ins and outs, ups and downs, fun times, and hard times of this adoption more than Angelina. The Lord truly knew who we needed to navigate us through this wild and crazy process of adoption and He could not have provided us with a more knowledgeable, hard working, tough, fun, driven, and loving facilitator than Angelina. Thankful does not begin to describe how I feel about her. Angelina has become like a sister to me, and I will miss her. Not only did she fight for this adoption every single step of the way, but she took us on some amazing excursions and showed us all the beauty that Alona's home country has to offer. I cannot imagine having gone through this with someone else. I look forward to seeing her again in the future!

  1. Liza used to do the same thing. She actually ruled out food based on the color green. The good news is that now she happily eats and enjoys all our (starch free) meals, with the exception of cooked carrots--which she's learned to eat in silence out of respect ;)
Angelina is one in a million. I am so glad she was able to return for this.

    1. Good to know Reagan! I might have to put Liza on the phone with Alona to give her a veggie pep talk:)
